Position Summary:
Our Business Tax Incentives (BTI) team, specializing in Scientific Research and Experimental Development (SRED) and Capital Asset Reviews (CAR), is looking for a qualified accounting or tax professional. As a Senior Tax Staff, BTI Costing Specialist, you’ll work with clients to assess eligibility, prepare SRED claims, and provide solutions to maximize tax incentives. This role offers opportunities to collaborate with cross-functional teams and gain exposure to research and development across various industries.

Key Responsibilities:

• Evaluate client eligibility for SRED projects and prepare tax incentive submissions.
• Prepare qualifying expenditure summaries and manage capital project reviews.
• Support technical tax incentive applications and manage client expectations.
• Collaborate with Canada Revenue Agency for reviews and lead project meetings.
• Utilize Excel, SharePoint, and tax preparation tools for accurate data management.

Qualifications:

• Degree or diploma in Accounting or related field.
• 2+ years of experience in accounting or tax; SRED knowledge is an asset.
• Strong skills in Excel and familiarity with tax software.
• Effective communication and interviewing skills for client interactions.
• Ability to manage strict deadlines and contribute creatively to client solutions.
• Experience in a professional services firm in tax or audit is an advantage.
